16 Days of Activism: NT Working Women’s Centre

Published

Today, we spotlight the NT Working Women’s Centre (NTWWC) as part of our 16 Days of Activism campaign.  Learn about their crucial work and what employers can do to reduce and respond to gender-based violence.

The NT Working Women’s Centre advocates for fair and safe workplaces for those experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence. They support employees who may need to access domestic violence leave and provide safety plans for workers who have experienced domestic violence. NTWWC also run training courses to help workplaces develop policies that are domestic and family violence aware and that ensure obligations around workplace safety are met, especially the positive duty to eliminate sexual harassment and discrimination.

Watch executive director of NTWWC, Nicki Petrou, discuss what employers can do to be more supportive of staff and the assistance available to those impacted by gender-based violence.
