Communities unite for 16 Days of Activism

Published

The Department of Children and Families has concluded its support for the 2025 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, following strong community participation across the Northern Territory.

With this year’s theme, UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls, the campaign brought attention to technology facilitated abuse and strengthened the message that respect and safety matter both online and offline.

Nearly 40 events were held across the Territory, from webinars and workshops to community breakfasts and regional movie nights. Activities were delivered through collaboration between Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Prevention Regional Coordinators, local services, councils and community groups.

A new feature this year was an online calendar of events, creating a single place for organisations to promote activities and for community members to see what was happening across all NT regions.

The campaign also aligned with the DFSV Reduction Strategy 2025–2028 PDF (535.2 KB) and Safety Roadmap PDF (288.2 KB), supporting a coordinated approach across prevention, early intervention, response and system reform.

Support is available 24/7
